Nalea's 1st Day of School

I can't believe that my little girl is already starting kindergarten. Nalea has Ms. Cooley this year for her teacher and is in the afternoon class. She was excited to get to wear her new sparkly shirt and her shorts with the diamonds on them. And let's not forget the high heels! She was however a little nervous to go to class. Luckily she has 2 girls from her preschool class in her kindergarten class.

Blessing Day

Lincoln Brent Hillyard was blessed on August 3rd, 2008 by his father. His Grandpa Johnson, Grandpa Hunter, Uncle Tyler, Uncle Mac, Uncle Brandon, Uncle Clay, Great Uncle Greg, Great Uncle Dan, and Great Uncle Verg all stood in the circle. Kyle did such a great job on the blessing and it was a really special day for our family. Thanks to everyone who came and supported Lincoln!

Nalea's Birthday

Happy 5th Birthday Nalea! I can't believe that my little baby girl turned 5 years old. She is the sweetest little girl and I am so proud of who she is becoming. Modeling her new dress-up outfit!

We had Nalea's birthday party at her Grandma and Grandpa Hunter's house since we don't have a yard at our new house yet. Her party guests were her 2 brothers, McKinlee, Courtney, Kaylee, Deirdre Barton, Skylar Alton, Myka Taylor, Elyse Barton, and Mikell Smith.

4th of July

Since Lincoln had just been born, we decided to just hang out at the farm house for the 4th of July. That evening we went outside and the kids lit sparklers.Isn't Boston's outfit amazing?

For the first time!

Here is Lincoln with his big sister Nalea. This is the first time that Lincoln got to come out of the nursery and meet his big sister and big brother! They were so excited to meet their little brother! Look how sweet Nalea is....

Kids are so Funny!

The other day the kids and I went grocery shopping. As we walked past the powdered milk, Boston started screaming, "We need to buy cow food." I couldn't figure out what he was talking about, so I let him out of the cart so that he could show me. He ran over to the powdered milk and grabbed the box which had a cow on the front and continued to say, "We need to buy cow food. Grandpa's cows are hungry."

Here's one from Nalea. As some of you know she is playing T-ball this summer and I am helping to coach her team. Yesterday we were getting ready for her game and I asked her to go and change her clothes and get ready for the game. She came out wearing her T-ball shirt (which is a royal blue color), olive green capri's that have white flowers down the side of the leg, and bright pink and red striped socks. I told her that she looked very cute, but said that maybe she should go and put some levi's on with white socks. She explained, "Mom, I'm just trying to add some color to this outfit." After a comment like that I couldn't argue. She wore her colorful outfit to the game, and we were suprised to find out that it was team picture day. Needless to say she looked colorful!

Birthday SUPRISE

For my birthday this year Kyle suprised me with tickets to the Kenny Chesney concert. We are both huge fans of his and had been talking about how much fun it would be to go to one of his concerts, but we never made any plans. Kyle and his friends, Jason and Tony, decided that they would secretly buy tickets and take their wives to Las Vegas on a date. The night before the concert I went into pre-term labor and Kyle and I spent a good portion of the night at the hospital. My contractions were coming every 30 seconds, but my body never dialates on its own so they sent me home. It was a long night and the contractions kept coming till about 6:00 the next morning. Needless to say, Kyle and I didn't get much sleep. That morning Kyle got up early and called my doctor to see if it was okay if I traveled to Las Vegas after the night that we had just had. The doctor told him, "If I tell you not to go, you guys will stay home and your wife won't have a single contraction and you'll be mad at me. If I tell you that it's safe to go you'll have a baby in Las Vegas." So Kyle was forced to break the suprise to me. He didn't dare make this decision on his own. I mulled it over for a couple of hours, going back and forth on whether I should go or not, but finally decided that I couldn't miss out this event! Especially after all of the planning that Kyle had put into this.

Our friends picked us up about 2:00 p.m. and we headed off so that we would have time to go to dinner before the concert.We ate dinner at the cheesecake factory. It was amazing!!
And then off to the concert. LeAnn Rimes opened up for Kenny. She was really good, but Kyle and I could hardly wait for the real show to begin. It was awesome! This was his Poets & Pirates tour.

This one of the best birthday gifts that Kyle has ever given me. I appreciated all of the thought that went into this little trip. Thanks honey!!

Fun in the St. George Sun

As most of you know, Kyle is the 1st counselor in the Young Men's presidency. They had a camp out this weekend and so the kids and I headed to St. George to spend the weekend with my sister and nephew. We spent most of our time at a park near her house. The kids had a blast! Boston kept saying, "Mom, play park?" And needless to say the weather was BEAUTIFUL!

Nalea has learned to pump herself in a swing this year. This is a BIG accomplishment in her life.

Kindergarten Registration

I can't believe that my little girl is already going to be starting school. I am excited for her, yet really sad that she has grown up so quickly. Thank heaven that kindergarten is only half a day. I am going to miss having her at home with me during the day.

Flying Kites

One of the great things about living in Enoch is that most days it is windy enough to fly a kite without much effort. My friend Jen bought Nalea and the neighbor girls a kite. All we had to do was let go of the kite and the wind did the rest. Nalea was a little worried that the wind was going to fly away with hers.

Boston and Sophie weren't really interested in the kites, so Boston gave Sophie a ride in the Jeep instead. He always has to drive. I guess that's a typical man.

Easter Morning

We spent Easter at home with our kids. We were all wore out after our trip to Arizona. However, Nalea woke up early excited to see what the Easter Bunny had brought her. We hunted for eggs, looked at their baskets, and rushed off to church.

After church Kyle took the kids outside to practice hitting a few balls with their new bats and balls that the Easter Bunny left for them.
